Explore Concepts & Careers around PULLEYS before building / testing one of your own!
Objective:Â
Students will apply principles of mechanical advantage, force, and simple machines to design, construct, and test a functioning pulley system.Â
Set in the coastal city of STIIX-Ville, students are tasked with developing a lifting mechanism to help transport boats out of the harbor more efficiently. Through this hands-on engineering challenge, students will explore how pulley configurations impact effort and load, while documenting their design process and evaluating the performance of their systems.
As an extension, students may explore an optional Augmented Reality experience through the STIIX-Ville app, where they can interact with and reflect on careers related to project.
