Labdisc: BioChem Portable Science Lab

Highlights:

A portable science lab optimized for biology and chemistry with 13 built-in sensors—ready to collect and analyze real-time data anywhere. Easy to use and auto-calibrated, it makes hands-on, inquiry-based learning simple for both math and science. Comes complete with access to training and over 50 K-12 standards-driven lessons.

From outdoor field studies to classroom experiments, the Biochem Labdisc gives students the freedom to explore science wherever curiosity leads. Its all-in-one design eliminates the need for multiple tools or complex setups, so teachers can focus on guiding inquiry instead of managing equipment. With cross-curricular applications, Labdisc helps students connect concepts through real-world data collection and analysis. The Biochem Labdisc has been optimized for life science, biology, and chemistry classrooms by providing a collection of sensors ideal for those courses.

Built-in Sensors:
Air Pressure, Ambient Temperature, Barometer, Colorimeter, Conductivity, External Temperature, GPS, Heart Rate, Light, pH, Relative Humidity, Thermocouple, Turbidity, Universal Input, (Dissolved Oxygen Probe Sold Separately)

Compatible with additional external sensors including a Force Accelerometer, Respiration, Magnetic Field, Voltage, Current, Heart Rate, and CO2 sensors. Also compatible with the Dissolved Oxygen Electrode.

Curriculum or Lesson Topics:

The Biochem Labdisc also comes complete with a MyStemKits Starter Plan allowing you to unlock up to five kits and their curriculum, including all compatible Labdisc lessons. Choose from hundreds of ready-to-3D print models, virtual simulations, and standards-driven lesson plans for K-12 STEM education such as:
 • Our Heart Rate (4)
 • What's the pHuss? (4-5)
 • Basil: Soil vs. Hydroponics (4-6)
 • Optimizing Bean Growth (5)
 • Measurement & Data Collection (6-8)
 • Water Filtration Challenge (6-8)
 • Boyle's Law: Pressure & Volume (9-12)
 • Gay Lussac's Law: Pressure & Temperature (9-12)
 • Produce Power (9-12)

Standard Alignments:

Curriculum is aligned to NGSS, Common Core, and State Standards in every lesson.
