Kemtec Science: Reaction Rate Factors
- Target Grades: 9-12
- Number of Students: 24 students working in six groups of four
Four experiments expose students to factors which affect the rate of chemical reactions; heat, concentration, catalysts, and surface area. Using a variety of reactions, including neutralization reactions, and acid base indicators, students are able to time the chemical reactions by observing specific color changes. The indicators used in these kits provide colorful results which are user friendly for students. The included worksheets focus on factors which affect reaction rates and their commercial significance. Includes all required chemicals, worksheets, reproducible laboratory procedures, and answer keys.‚
