California Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) Afterschool Funding
What is California's ELO-P afterschool grant funding?
California’s Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) was created to provide K-6 students with afterschool and summer enrichment programs that complement, but do not replicate, their activities during the regular school day. Expanded learning also includes before school programs and intersession learning programs that use hands-on engaging learning experiences to develop the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of their students.
Is my school eligible to receive this funding? How much is awarded?
ELO-P afterschool grant funding is available for all K-6 California school districts, including charter schools, frontier, and remote-classified schools. The total amount that a school can receive in funding from this grant depends on their "Unduplicated Pupil Percentage" (UPP), meaning that students are only counted once even if they meet multiple criteria. School with UPP attendance rates of 75% or more have recently received $2,750 per student, while schools below 75% received $2,052 per student, with no LEA receiving less than $50,000 for ELO Programs.
