Resource Support and STEM 101 Professional Development for ELO-P Programs
STEMfinity is the one-stop-shop for your ELO-P program and has over 10,000 hands-on resources from over 150 of the best educational brands on the planet… but we totally understand that putting them all in one place can still be overwhelming! I mean, how the heck do you even begin to research over 10,000 resources and find the right ones for your students? Luckily for you, our in-house team of STEM experts has already done their homework and can help your ELO-P program find the perfect combination of resources to match the interest of your students and the experience of your staff while staying within your budget. But that’s only the first step in our journey together! After working with our in-house STEM experts to select the best resources for your ELO-P program, STEMfinity is ready to help your team cross the finish line and successfully implement all of your recently purchased resources with our STEM 101 Professional Development training. STEM 101 Professional Development training will help eliminate any hesitation that you might have about implementing a new resource or technology by providing your ELO-P staff with everything that they need to succeed.
Depending on the dates of your training, STEMfinity will send “Mr. Science” himself, Jason Lindsey, to your ELO-P program and provide up to 30 of your staff members with a custom implementation that is designed around the resources you purchased and the needs of your site. Jason is an award-winning meteorologist and educator that has helped programs all across the United States with implementing their resources by working directly with staff to create a successful plan that will enable them to thrive on day 1. You can see Jason in action by visiting his website, watching one of his Free STEM Experiment of the Week videos, or see him in this video showing off entertaining educational experiments to Kathie Lee and Hoda on the TODAY Show.
Our STEM 101 Professional Development is not a one-size-fits-all approach: your students, staff, goals, budget, and resources are one-of-a-kind and we believe that your on-site training should be the same. Implementing a single resource like robotics is a completely different approach for each program when you consider the five factors listed above, and if one of the factors is altered then it will impact the others.
For example, just because there are multiple ELO-P sites that want to implement a K-6 robotics program does not mean that the same resources are right for each program. One ELO-P might have a dedicated staff member that has a background in programming which allows them to get more advanced robotics kits because students will have ongoing access to support. Another ELO-P might opt for more approachable robotics kits because there is bigger emphasis on inclusion and providing more opportunities to as many students as possible. Some ELO-P sites might have a smaller budget and will need to opt for more affordable kits. Other ELO-P sites might already have existing robotics resources and are looking for additional kits that integrate with, or compliment their current program. And sometimes students will have their own unique interests or preferences and it will be up to ELO-P staff to learn more about which types of resources will excite and engage them the most. All of these factors must be considered - and that’s only for just a single resource like robotics! Many ELO-P programs need several different types of resources, and each of them will need serious consideration based upon these factors.
