Kemtec Science: Acids and Bases I

Students are introduced to acids, bases, and neutral substances with lab experiments using common indicators including red litmus, blue litmus, phenolphthalein, methyl orange, bromothymol blue, phenol red, Universal indicator solution, and Universal indicator paper. Students may test additional household items with these indicators as well. They are introduced to the concept of pH and learn how it is related to ion concentrations, and how pH is used to determine the strengths of acids and bases. All lab activities are written in an easy-to-understand, step-by-step format, with data charts, worksheets, review sheet, word search, crossword puzzle, multiple choice test, and answer keys. Includes all required chemicals and supplies except distilled water.
