AI Lite is an AI-enabled robotics kit that builds students' AI literacy through progressive, hands-on coding. Learners can begin creating their AI programs using either a block-based programming environment or Python programming with AI libraries such as OpenCV and Machine Learning — giving them real, practical exposure to computer vision and pattern recognition rather than just robotics mechanics. No complex assembly required; students can build an AI robotics model in minutes. The robotics kit itself is equipped with AI Camera Sensor and supporting sensors (ultrasonic, infrared, color) that enable real AI-driven capabilities like face recognition, object recognition, gesture recognition, and color recognition. As an entry-level AI Literacy plus Robotics platform, it introduces students to applied AI concepts using accessible tools and libraries, laying the foundation for more advanced AI development later.

Technology Requirements/Specifications:

• Computer: Laptop or desktop (Windows, macOS, or Linux) capable of running Python 3.x —
• Software Environments: MIT App Inventor (Browser-based) and Python
• Tablet: Android tablet with MIT App Inventor Companion App
• AI Libraries: OpenCV (for computer vision tasks — face/object/color recognition) and a Machine Learning library
• Connectivity: WiFi connection between the laptop/desktop and AI Lites Brain Block, to upload/transmit programs to the robot
• Camera Access: Since perception tasks rely on the AI Camera Sensor, the programming environment needs proper driver/permission support to read camera input Minimum System
• Computer Tech Specs: A reasonably current machine with at least 4GB RAM
• Internet Access: Recommended for initial library installation (pip installs) and any cloud-based ML model training/reference, though not necessarily required for every lesson once set up
