Why Skillastics Was Created
Since the 1970s, the percentage of children and adolescents affected by obesity has more than tripled in the United States.
And no wonder — with the rise in convenient technologies, unhealthy foods, and more sedentary lifestyles, the appeal and interest in physical activity has taken a backseat.
And while multiple studies have shown that school-based policies and after-school programs that increase physical activity are an incredibly powerful way to battle this epidemic and improve academic performance, it’s still a struggle to implement. It seems budgets keep getting smaller, classes keep getting bigger, and instructors’ responsibilities keep increasing.
So with this in mind, Skillastics® was founded to change the world of physical activity.
