It is equipped with many sensors: Tactile Sensors, Ultrasonic sensors, a Gyro, an Accelerometer, Force Sensors, Infrared sensors, 2 HD Cameras, 4 Microphones and high accuracy digital encoders on each joint. The new version 6 of NAO comes with a new processor Intel Atom E3845 (1.91Ghz).

The advanced software package includes a full SDK and API in Java, C++, C# (.N et), Matlab, and Python. Every robot comes standard with Choregraphe, an award-winning software that makes it easy to program the robot using a drag and drop interface which simplifies the programming for new and advanced users alike.

We have a spectrum of new fully developed lesson plans and activities for teachers of all types from grades 4 to 14 compatible with the latest version of NAO. Developed in conjunction with educators in the field, these classes have been tested and optimized to impart critical STEM and Coding lessons.

Course 1: Introduction to Programming with NAO - Beginner  

Students will learn basic programming skills by creating an interactive story for NAO to tell. Each lesson uncover another layer of the story and introduces a computer science concept.

The NAO robot may come in different colors depending on the version.
The color variation are located on the shoulders, side of the legs, side of the hands, part of the chest and the head of the robot.

  • Embedded software called NAOqi runs on the motherboard (located in the head of the robot) allowing autonomous behaviors.
  • Desktop software called Choregraphe, runs on your computer allowing creation of new behaviors. It also allows you to control the robt remotely
  • The robot comes with SDK/ API in python, Java, C++ and Java Script. There are ROS extensions available for the NAO robot as well.
