Highlights:

The Wind to Hydrogen Science Education Kit enables students to invent their own clean energy applications using a small electric motor powered by a fuel cell. Hydrogen is produced through water electrolysis by a reversible PEM fuel cell that is itself powered by a wind turbine with profiled blades based on NASA aeronautics.

Curriculum or Lesson Topics:

  • Wind and renewable energy
  • Wind turbine design and efficiency
  • Water electrolysis and hydrogen production
  • Hydrogen fuel cells
  • Energy conversion and storage
  • Electricity and basic circuits

Standard Alignments:

  • NGSS: Physical Science, Earth & Environmental Science, and Engineering Design
  • Energy transformation and conservation
  • Renewable energy and sustainability
  • Scientific investigation and data analysis

What’s Included:

  • Wind turbine components
  • Reversible PEM fuel cell/electrolyzer
  • Water/gas storage modules
  • Turbine blades and motor
  • LED module, tubing, and connecting leads
