Kemtec Science: Chemical Formulas

• Target Grades: 7-12
• Number of Students: 24 students working in six groups of four

Students experiment to determine the correct chemical formulas for compounds by combining chemicals in various ratios, and observing the combination that produces the greatest amount of precipitate. Using the ratio of the combination, they determine the chemical formulas for the newly formed substances. Includes all required chemicals, vocabulary and chemical formula writing and naming worksheets, data sheets, reproducible procedures, and answer keys.
