Key Account Manager, Northeast
STEMfinity is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Key Account Manager to support strategic growth in the Northeast region.
(Note: The home base/remote office must be located in the northeastern U.S.: CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VA, VT, or WV.)
This role is ideal for someone passionate about STEM education and experienced in building long-term partnerships with educational institutions, government agencies, nonprofits, and corporations.
As a Key Account Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for our largest and most impactful partners. You'll act as a trusted advisor—deeply understanding each customer’s goals, recommending tailored STEM solutions, and driving repeatable, high-volume sales. You'll also coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and support.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the lead point of contact for key accounts in the Northeast region.
- Develop a deep understanding of client needs, goals, and challenges to ensure a personalized customer experience.
- Cultivate long-term relationships that lead to increased customer loyalty and account expansion.
Strategic Business Development
- Identify and build relationships with decision-makers within school districts, OST programs, government/military agencies, and for-profit organizations.
- Prospect within awarded contracts and vendor-qualified entities to maximize opportunities for repeatable, long-term sales.
- Handle both inbound and outbound relationship-building efforts across the region.
Product Expertise
- Develop expert-level knowledge of STEMfinity’s product offerings and service solutions.
- Clearly articulate the value of our Preferred Products, Services, and the One-Stop STEM Shop approach.
- Stay current on new product releases and competitive advantages.
Sales Pipeline & CRM Management
- Manage your sales pipeline through HubSpot, ensuring all prospect and client interactions are accurately tracked.
- Maintain visibility into sales activity, progress toward goals, and conversion metrics.
Trade Show Representation
- Represent STEMfinity at key regional events and trade shows.
- Assist with booth setup, customer engagement, and teardown.
- Act as a brand ambassador, sharing STEMfinity’s mission and vision.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams across customer support, custom kitting and marketing to ensure customer success.
- Share customer insights and feedback to help shape go-to-market strategies.
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in key account management, sales, or customer success—preferably in the education or EdTech sector.
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships and close high-value deals.
- Strong understanding of the K–12 education ecosystem and purchasing processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM tools.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to travel to customer visits, tradeshows and regional events – 20% travel may be required
- Experience selling STEM/STEAM products or educational curriculum to districts and OST programs preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, or a related field.
