Mand Labs Academy
- Grades: 6-12+
Highlights:
Mand Labs Academy is an interactive e-learning platform for DIY Electronics. You can take the master course, work on hands-on projects, take quizzes, build your skills and seek technical support from Mand Labs engineers. Mand Labs Academy compliments KIT-1 and enhances the learning experience. It is a more structured way to learn and it goes a step further by giving users more direction in terms of tracking on the material they have completed. Mand Labs has created a desktop application (Mac, Windows and Linux) for Mand Labs Academy, which presents KIT-1 in the form of a Master Course with videos, quizzes, projects and questions. Users can also learn through independent DIY project packs based on a variety of topics. This is a 1 year membership to the Mand Labs Academy.
Benefits:
- Users can take quizzes and evaluate their progress
- Take notes on the go- store, edit, and download
- Master course: Video lessons with step-by-step project guides, questions, and modular progression in skills
- DIY projects library: Choose from topic-based hands-on projects
- Technical support: Raise & manage support tickets
- Updates with new projects, and videos
Who is it for:
- Middle and high school students
- STEM educators running maker spaces, physics labs and robotics programs
- Homeschooling parents
- DIY enthusiasts and makers
Curriculum and Lesson Topics:
Mand Labs' Master Curriculum is divided into three learning levels: Level-1, Level-2 and Level-3.
- Level-1 curriculum will build your foundation in basic concepts of current and electricity topics and help you master the fundamentals of Kirchhoff's laws and Ohm's law in both theoretical and practical context.
- Level-II will further diversify your knowledge into the field of electrical engineering by introducing you to relays and semiconductors.
- Level-III will prepare you to work with transistors, DC motors and Robotics. In the process, you develop a more comprehensive understanding and application of physics laws including, EMI (Electromagnetic Induction) Lenz's law, Ohm's law and Kirchhoff's Laws (KCL and KVL) to analyze circuits, gain prototyping skills and master the concepts of electrical engineering 101.
The curriculum covers the following topics in depth: Charge, Battery, Voltage, Current, Resistance, LED, Multimeter, Resistors, Ohm's law, Series and Parallel Combination, Variable Resistors: Potentiometer, Preset and LDR, Switches, Capacitors, Electromagnetism and Relay, Semiconductors, Diodes, Zener Diodes and Logic Gates, DC Motors and Transistors (BJT).
The total curriculum consists of an array of 60 hands-on projects and activities with detailed reasoning and analysis. This will help you prepare your students better for the following units in AP Physics C, Electricity and Magnetism and AP Physics-1. The module is further complemented by three base quizzes which comprises a mix of questions testing AP Physics standards, basic concepts and experimental acumen.
