Highlights:
The Egyptian Expedition™ is a fully digital, browser-based drone coding curriculum where students apply math, science, and computational thinking to explore ancient mysteries and fly virtual drones through an interactive Egyptian landscape. No physical drones are required. No experience is needed. Every student becomes a pilot, a coder, and a problem-solver.
This program is included free with STEM Fundamentals and FPV Initiator, or can be purchased separately as a stand-alone digital offering.
Designed for Real Teachers
The Egyptian Expedition is a standards-aligned curriculum developed from the ground up for classroom instruction. It is delivered entirely through the Drone Legends Educator Portal (DLEP) and includes:
- Digital lesson plans and assessments
- Step-by-step teacher guidance
- Mission-by-mission planning tools
- Downloadable student resources
No software installation is needed. Runs smoothly on Chrome, Windows, or Safari.
What Makes It Different?
- 100% digital. No drones, batteries, or hardware needed.
- Easy onboarding. No prior experience required for teachers or students.
- Self-paced or teacher-led. Use it in a lab, during a block schedule, or in enrichment time.
- Engaging and academic. Students learn by doing, coding, testing, and adjusting flight paths inside a 3D simulator.
Mission duration is flexible. Most schools implement it over 8–10 one-hour session.
Eight missions. One ancient mystery.
Students follow in the footsteps of a long-lost explorer, uncovering clues, decoding messages, and programming their way through a series of progressively challenging drone flight tasks. Each mission combines storytelling, STEM learning, and real-world coding skills in a fully immersive simulator.
Students will:
- Learn block-based drone coding in a structured environment
- Navigate virtual airspace using third-person and first-person simulator views
- Use metric measurements and real-world planning strategies
- Solve spatial challenges using drone movement, altitude, and orientation commands
- Work independently or in teams to complete mission objectives
Standard Alignments:
Egyptian Expedition meets or exceeds national benchmarks:
- Common Core (Math, ELA)
- NGSS science practices
- ISTE digital skills
-
Computational Thinking through CSTA frameworks
Missions build vocabulary, reinforce math and geometry concepts, and teach real-world problem-solving using coding logic.
What's Included:
