Inspire kids' STEM interests through hands-on, exploratory learning with the Alpha III model rocket. One of the first rockets in the Beginner level series, this high flying rocket kit for kids was designed with beginners in mind. A hands-on educational activity, kids take an active role in the rocket's construction while using pre-colored parts and self-stick decals. The black body tube, fluorescent orange nose cone and one piece fin unit make this rocket easy-to-assemble and fun to fly! With nothing needed more than everyday household supplies and some glue, they'll be ready for liftoff in under an hour. Using Estes standard model rocket engines (sold separately), the Alpha III can soar to 1150 feet high. Once the rocket reaches its peak altitude, it will gently return to earth on its brightly colored, matching orange 12 inch parachute.

You'll need the Electron Beam Launch Controller and the Porta-Pad II Launch Pad to launch this favorite. Alpha III uses standard Estes engines (A, B, or C engines) for propellant and is recovered with a 12 inch parachute. If you want outstanding performance flight after flight, the Alpha III is it!
